Today, you’re about to meet Madison, or Madi. Our paths crossed here on Gadigal land—a place that, despite being thousands of kilometers away from each of our respective homes, we both chose to reestablish ourselves in our version 2.0.
Madi is the first guest on my podcast who has come into my “new life.” She never knew the French version of me, just as I never knew the American version of her. All we know of each other is the present version—the one where our two Aussie selves met and discovered a shared love for Australia. For both of us, this land is where our creative journeys truly took off. As you listen to our conversation, you’ll notice that creativity has always seemed to flow naturally for Madi—a healthy, easily accessible source. I found myself in complete awe, not only of how effortlessly she taps into her creativity but also of the boundaries she has established to protect and nurture it as something sacred.
Beyond the creative act itself, what stands out is Madi’s deep connection with herself. Even if we set aside the production of art, her creativity is rooted in a profound relationship with her own being, which in turn strengthens her spirituality. What I’ve come to realise—both from our conversation and in my own experience—is that the more grounded you are in your spiritual connection, the freer you become from external judgment. And ultimately, that is what seems to liberate Madi, allowing her to fully embody who she is through her art. While I feel that Australia is the place that helped me unlock and meet myself for the first time, Madi seems to have always had a clear and unwavering connection to herself.
Talking to Madi was incredibly inspiring, yet at the same time, it felt like opening a door to even more possibilities. It reminded me of how much work I still have ahead—so much to clear, deconstruct, unpack, and release.
